Day 120 – Koningsdag 2011

After an 8 hour drive we arrived back in time to, unpack, shower, and dress in orange!

Yep, in (unload car) and out (showered and re-dressed in various shades of orange) in 30 minutes flat, we were at Helene’s and Emile’s to do the Dutch Queens Day, having already ditched flags (and loyalties) to the British Monarch!

Lots of running around was had by all the mad Dutch kids (ours included), great Dutch (and Indonesian) food was eaten (bitterballen/cheese/tomatoes stuffed with prawns/sate chicken etc), and we all washed it down with Heineken beer, (or red wine, suitably dressed in orange labels).

The head count was low on the real Dutch, but high on those in sympathy with the Dutch!  So we celebrated in style and penchant for all Dutch traditions!  Goede dag!
