Day 266 – autumn equinox

Today we passed into the Autumnal Equinox at 09.04am this morning. It is the point where technically the sun passes from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere for the longer part of the day, ie our days start to become shorter (and in the south they start to become longer). Autumn has truly arrived. Officially. The Autumn Equinox (sept 23rd this year) is the day of almost equal night and day, and heralds the start of Autumn, a time for harvesting and celebration. In Brussels, it has felt like Autumn for a few weeks now, and the leaves are already falling, the vegetables and fruits are already changing in season at the market, and the thought of baking, preserving and soup making is already alive and kicking in our house.
It’s a great season and one that I’m already preparing for on Pinterest……. there are some fab autumn ideas and colour palettes out there in visual form, just get dreaming and creating……enjoy!
