Day 262 – Happy Mondays!
The path to inner joy is simple – commit random acts of kindness, relax and be thankful for what you’ve got…..

and one it’s not so difficult to follow……
As Mondays can be such a difficult day to get motivated, I’m going to spend my Monday blog looking at’ How to be Happy ‘, which takes ‘5 a day for a healthy mind’ one step further. Lets get positive, leap out of bed on a Monday and start with….
Giving is good for you. When we give to others it activates the areas of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection and trust.
Altruistic behaviour releases endorphins in the brain and boosts happiness for us as well as the people we help. Studies have shown that giving money away tends to make people happier than spending it on themselves.
This is so true – doing things for others – whether small, unplanned acts or regular volunteering – is a powerful way to boost our happiness as well of those around us. The people we help may be strangers, family, friends, colleagues or neighbours. They can be old or young, nearby or far away. Giving isn’t just about money, and in fact is much healthier and enriching when it has nothing to do with it. Giving to others can be as simple as a single kind word, smile or a thoughtful gesture. It can include giving time, care, skills, thought or attention. Sometimes these mean as much, if not more, than financial gifts.
So next Monday, give a smile to a stranger, a thank-you to a friend or colleague, some time for a neighbour, a hug to your Hubbie, and bake some cookies for your kids. I feel happier just thinking about it!!
