Day 171 – Creating stuff with plastic strips and bits of paper…..

Yesterday morning was spent hanging out at the Open day and Brocante at Turtlewings.  Jules was promoting her great Pre-school programme (move over Gever Tully, Jules has big plans to make pre-school cool!), and we were keeping an eye and generally selling bits and pieces with Sam (her pre-school teacher who also happens to be responsible for some on my kids schooling at BEPs year’s ago, so comes well recommended!).  We were focusing on raising money for some of the pre-school makeover.  We were also promoting re-use and recycle to link into REcircle (our recycling organisation in Brussels).

Jules had prepared a black bucket of plastic straps, you know, those horrible strips that are found often around packing boxes, and when left in the street are guarenteed to trip you up!  At first my two were having none of it, then suddenly faced with a couple of hours of chilling on the street with no waveboards or electronics, they threw themselves in.

Within an hour, they had created a hanging mobile, a placemat, a drinks mat and a plastic hat!

And then my daughter wandered inside to make paper origami boxes from left over scraps of paper……

Which gave me time to chill on a little chair and read up on this fabulous book which I intend to finish off this week, and review….

What more could you ask for on a Sunday Morning?  Ok may’be a little better weather, but it’s due here soon!!
